SHELTON, CT–(Marketwired – July 11, 2016) – Spine Wave, Inc. is committed to the commercialization of high-quality, innovative medical devices for the treatment of spinal disorders. Spine Wave’s commitment was demonstrated by its previously announced acquisition of rights in the True Position® Pivoting Spacer System from Atlas Spine on February 23, 2016. Since then, Spine Wave has executed a successful limited market release of the device and produced inventories to support its full commercial launch. Spine Wave now announces the full commercial launch of the True Position® Pivoting Spacer System in the United States.

The True Position® Pivoting Spacer System is a pivoting “crescent-style” interbody fusion device that is implanted with the widely used TLIF technique. Its patented Center Pivot Point Technology provides a powerful and controlled mechanical advantage, allowing the surgeon to more easily and accurately insert and then position the interbody spacer. This capability is especially useful for surgeons implanting “crescent” type devices with posterior approaches as an important part of their effort to restore sagittal balance. Additionally, the True Position® Pivoting Spacer System can be implanted using minimally invasive techniques. This innovative platform also includes the True Position® XL implant, a device designed for posterior procedures but with an implant “footprint” more comparable to that of lateral and anterior devices.

“We were very pleased with the feedback from clinicians during the limited release and we are excited to now be in a position to fully launch and support the technology,” said Mark LoGuidice, Spine Wave’s Chief Executive Officer. “The commercial launch of the True Position®Pivoting Spacer System significantly strengthens our broadening line of unique and proprietary spinal implant solutions and represents the first of several major product launches Spine Wave expects to deliver over the next twelve to eighteen months.”
