SAN DIEGO -- FeRx, a targeted drug delivery company, announced the appointment of Michael George to its board of directors. Mr. George is president and CEO of Michael George & Associates, a consulting firm focused on assisting pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies with marketing, business development, partnering, and compliance issues.

Prior to starting his consulting business, Mr. George was president and CEO of Urocor, which was acquired by Dianon Systems in 2001. Before joining Urocor he spent nine years with DuPont Merck Pharmaceutical, first in sales and marketing and later as president of various international divisions within the company.

Other members of the FeRx board include Vicente Anido, president and CEO of ISTA Pharmaceuticals; Roy Cosan, vice president of Johnson & Johnson Development Corp.; Bill Link, general partner of Versant Venture; and Kenneth J. Widder, general partner at Windamere Ventures.
